The President of the RT met with the participants of the educational program “Architectory.rf”

The participants of the event discussed the features of the project and the implementation of the “Parks and Squares” program in Tatarstan.

(KZN.RU, October 11). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, met with the participants of the educational program “Architectory.rf”.

The meeting took place at the Government House of the RT. Natalia Fishman, an assistant to the President of the RT, Irek Faizullin, the minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Utilities of the RT, Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Kazan Executive Committee, deputy chief architects of Kazan Timur Kadyrov and Daria Tolovkova took part in the meeting.

“Architectory.rf” is an educational program for practicing architects and civil servants in charge of urban planning, improvement, and urban development. The program was launched in May 2018 by Institute for Media, Architecture, and Design “Strelka”.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that today all over the world special attention is paid to the development of public spaces and the formation of the urban environment. According to him, the republic has gained experience in the implementation of projects for the development of public spaces. For four years, there is a program “Parks and Squares” in Tatarstan aimed at improving park areas, squares, and public recreation areas.

Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that a lot is changing in cities and districts of the republic today thanks to the creation of new public spaces, the improvement of yards, including the consciousness of people. “In many ways, this is also happening thanks to young talented specialists, modern architects, such as yourselves”, said Rustam Minnikhanov, addressing the meeting participants.

The participants of the educational program “Architectory.rf” briefly told the President of the RT about the program and about its educational modules (“Housing in the environment”, “Cities of Russia”, “Future cities”, and others). Thus, the young architects will visit 12 Russian cities located in different regions within the program. They will get acquainted with the principles of creating a comfortable urban environment, expanding knowledge of modern approaches to urban planning. Kazan, in particular, has become one of these cities.

During the meeting, the architects asked Rustam Minnikhanov their questions. So, they wanted to know what influenced the decision of the republic’s leadership to assemble a team of young specialists and entrust it with the formation of public spaces; what is the future policy of the region regarding the construction of comfortable housing and is there a need for a renovation program for the Khrushchevkas in the regions; where Tatarstan finds examples for inspiration and implementation of new projects, reports the press service of the President of the RT.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that the program “Parks and Squares” received great support and approval of the population in the Republic. According to him, the renovated parks and recreation areas are public places used by all, regardless of age. He noted that many residents of cities and districts are grateful for the created walking zones, pedestrian boulevards, and renovated parks. Despite the fact that the program of overhauling polyclinics in cities is much more expensive for the budget, it did not receive such a response from the population, said Rustam Minnikhanov. And parks and squares have become very popular with our citizens, he said. This is especially important because the environment forms the consciousness of people. Now the main thing is that these public spaces should operate and be in demand, it is necessary to fill them with life, believes Rustam Minnikhanov.
