70 volunteers will help Kazan citizens to connect to a digital TV

Training courses on installing and setting user equipment for receiving digital television will start in Kazan in April.

(KZN.RU, February 28, Alena Miroshnichenko). Training courses for volunteers on installing and setting user equipment for receiving digital television will start in Kazan in April. The training will be held for 70 people who will later conduct outreach work with local residents.

The 4-hour training program developed by the FGUP “Russian Television Broadcasting Network” provides for the teaching volunteers theoretical and practical knowledge. At the end of the course, each volunteer is given a special certificate entitling them to assist the public in setting digital television.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Informatization of the RT, the training of the first group of Kazan volunteers is scheduled for April 11, the second one – for April 16, and the third one – for April 18. The number of volunteers involved in the process may increase.

The Tatarstan citizens will be able to get the help of volunteers through the Republican Contact Center for the transition to digital TV, which will start functioning in April, or already now through the Unified Information Center by phone number: 8 (800) 220-20-02.

For reference

On June 3, Tatarstan will have a full-scale transition to digital television broadcasting, within which analog broadcasting television will be turned off. All residents of the country and the republic will have 20 free TV channels in high digital quality.

First, you need to check the format of the used broadcast. In the analog format, the letter “A” will be seen on the TV screen next to the logos of the TV channels “Channel One Russia”, “Russia-1”, “NTV”, “Channel 5”. If the TV supports the digital standard DVB-T2, then to view the channels in digital format, it is enough to reconfigure it and connect it to a decimeter or all-wave antenna. If the TV does not support the required digital standard, then, in addition to the antenna, you will need a special console. The console with the digital standard can be purchased at any electronics store, and soon they will be available in all post offices.

You can clarify whether the TV supports the DVB-T2 digital standard in several ways: look in the device’s passport, find the TV’s characteristics on the Internet by the brand name and model, or check with the manufacturer’s support center. It is important to note that TVs and set-top boxes that support only the DVB-T standard will not be able to receive a digital signal. In this case, you will have to purchase a more modern model of the console - DVB-T2.

The transition to digital television does not affect subscribers connected to paid cable television networks, IP television, satellite television.
