Almost 32 thousand trees and 67 thousand shrubs were planted in Kazan in 2022

Traditionally, their number exceeds the motorization.

In 2022, 37 thousand square meters of flower beds were equipped in Kazan, as well as 24 decorative flower arrangements. Igor Salakhutdinov, Chairman of the Land Improvement Committee, reported to the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin about the results of the work on landscaping and flower decoration of the city at the summing-up meeting.

He noted that traditionally the number of trees and shrubs planted in the city exceeds the motorization. In 2022, almost 32 thousand trees and 67 thousand shrubs were planted along the roads, as well as in parks and squares of Kazan. At the same time, the number of registered cars increased by only 8 thousand. In total, over the past 10 years, more than 560 thousand trees and 290 thousand shrubs have been planted in the city.

Planting of flowers transforms Kazan in summer. “The territory of the flower festival was restored, where 32 flower grounds with a total area of 23 thousand square meters were recreated. We continue to plant perennials in the city to decorate various sites for a longer period. Last year, 29 thousand such plants were planted,”- he said.

Ilsur Metshin noted that landscaping is one of the performance indicators by which the work of the committee and district administrations will be evaluated.
