In Kazan, the cancellation policy is being simplified due to the spread of coronavirus. Trips are recommended to be postponed to a more favorable period, first Deputy Head of the Kazan municipality Evgenia Lodvigova said today at Business Monday.
Now the tourism industry is suffering serious losses. In particular, the tourist flow to Kazan has decreased by 70%. At the same time, the Association of hotels of Kazan and Tatarstan takes all necessary measures to ensure the safety of visitors, including simplifying the rules for booking cancellations. “In Kazan today, it is possible to change and cancel bookings, including prepaid ones,”- E.Lodvigova said. The visit to the city is recommended to be postponed to a more favorable period – there will be no hotel penalties, she emphasized.
“It is difficult to assess the exact extent of losses, but they are very high.” said E.Lodvigova.
The Association of hotels of Kazan and Tatarstan addressed open letters to partners and suppliers of goods and services, which contain the necessary measures to support the tourist business, including deferral, restructuring of payments and others.
“Now, on behalf of Russian Ministry of economic development, information is being collected on the number of cancelled bookings and the amount of financial losses in order to develop measures to support the tourism industry”, - Kazan Vice-Mayor said.
