Rustem Gafarov met with representatives of charitable organizations

Participants discussed the creation of a coordinating council for the development of adaptive sports.

Rustem Gafarov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, discussed with representatives of Kazan charitable organizations questions of the work of the coordinating council, the employment of people with disabilities, the need to create a single base for those in need within the city project “Good Kazan”.

Welcoming the participants, he thanked the charitable organizations for their significant systematic work. “Our task is to create conditions so that a person who finds himself in a difficult situation knows where he can get help. This can be achieved only when conducting joint work”, he said.

The coordinating council should be an example of this interaction. The council will be created in Kazan for the development of adaptive sports and involving people with disabilities to active life, as well as the development of a city program with specific proposals. On October 29, this decision was announced at a meeting of the XXIX session of the Kazan City Duma.

Rustem Gafarov marked that the Kazan Municipality will work closely with charitable organizations. “You know best of all who and how to help, how to organize this or that event correctly, taking into account the needs of the audience. You are the main assistant of the state in this area”, he addressed the participants of the meeting.

Representatives of charitable organizations supported this proposal. In the near future, they will send their vision of the council work to the City Executive Committee.

Olga Mishutina, the deputy director of the Anzhela Vavilova Charitable Fund, proposed to develop such a direction as habilitation of disabled people in Kazan. This is the system and the formation process of the abilities of disabled people to the household, social, professional, and other activities. The idea was supported by representatives of other funds.

Olga Mishutina also shared her experience in a single database, which contains basic information about those who need help. The fact is that people in a difficult situation often get to raise money at various sites to get prompt help. At the same time, they turn to several funds, but usually, it does not allow to be certain of the amount of funds raised and the effectiveness of its use. Charitable organizations noted the need to create a single base, thanks to which there will be a clear understanding of where the fundraising is completed and who still need help.

Adelina Mingazova, the head of the public organization of the RT “Detyam” (Rus. “For Children”), told about the development of hippotherapy in Kazan. They first started to develop therapeutic horse riding for disabled children in the city. Now the organization is the largest hippotherapy center in the city. A. Mingazova said that today, there are difficulties with a covered area, and the area of the open one decreases from year to year. Therefore, she appealed to the Kazan City Hall with a request to support and find opportunities to resolve the issue.

One of the topics of the meeting was also the holding of the III open forum “Good Kazan. Charity: the experience of the regions”. Marat Ismagilov, the project “Good Kazan” manager, said that within two days the participants and guests of the forum will become familiar with the technologies of charitable activities, examples of successful cooperation between business, government and non-profit organizations, prospects for the development of charity in Kazan. Discussions and roundtables will cover topics such as volunteer fundraising, silver volunteering, and others. The event will be held on November 29-30 in the capital of Tatarstan. Such meetings of government representatives with philanthropists will become systematic; each will be devoted to a specific topic.
