The census forms for the next Russian population census will be completely anonymous and will not contain any personal information. The fulfilled census forms will be destroyed immediately after the census results are published. This was reported by the State Statistics Department in Kazan.
As noted in the Department, the main principle of data collection is self-determination – respondents provide responses for the census forms. No documents are required. For information, during the census, residents of the Russian Federation will answer 30 questions, including gender, age, citizenship, place of birth, nationality, native language, education, marital status, number of children, sources of livelihood, employment, and others.
For the first time in Russia, the population census will be held in a new digital format. All interested people can participate in the Internet census – on the Common Government service portal of the Russian Federation or on the mobile app. In addition, there will be an opportunity to answer census traditionally – the interviewer will enter all the answers in an electronic census form on the tablet. “In all cases, the census forms of the All-Russian population census will be completely anonymous. The first name, last name and patronymic are not included in the census forms”, - Tatarstan State Statistics department emphasizes. Census forms filled in by respondents to be destroyed immediately after the census results are published.
“The population census is a unique source of data on population, household composition, marital status, education level, ethnicity and other. Based on the data obtained, programs for the socio-economic development of the country will be formed”, - Natalia Gataullina, head of the Tatarstan State Statistics department, said at a briefing.
