Weapons of eminent Russian and Soviet military figures will be demonstrated at the Kazan Kremlin

The exhibition will show samples that was presented to Leonid Brezhnev and Rodion Malinovsky

The exhibition “Award and gift weapons of outstanding Russian and Soviet military figures” will open in the Museum of the Cannon Yard of the Kazan Kremlin on October 24. The exhibits cover the period from the beginning of the XX century to the 1990s and will present a wide geography - from Belgium and Yugoslavia to Algeria and Saudi Arabia.

For the first time in the capital of the кepublic of Tatarstan, samples of award and gift weapons belonging to eminent military figures of the Soviet and Russian armies will be shown. For example, visitors will be able to see the M-3A1 submachine gun - a gift to Marshal Rodion Malinovsky from the Cuban Minister of Defense Raul Castro.

The exhibition also presents a sniper rifle of the 88th Guards Rifle Zaporozhye division, senior Sergeant S. Egorov and a homemade pistol of the partisan K.Kravchenko.

Among the exhibits are samples of hunting weapons presented to Leonid Brezhnev by the President of Finland Urho Kekkonen and the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party Yumzhagiin Tsedenbal.

The exhibition also includes personal belongings of prominent military figures, for example, the uniform of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Tikhon Abramov, in which he attended the Victory Parade on June 24, 1945.

The exhibition will run until April 14. The exhibits were brought from the funds of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Press Office of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve reports.
