The Kazan experience on cooperation of medical facilities with Yandex is planned to be applied to other Russian regions

To date, 60 vehicles were allocated to Kazan medical workers for carrying out home visits.

The experience of Kazan on cooperation of hospitals and clinics with Yandex company for the transportation of medical workers is planned to be applied to other cities of the country. This was announced today at the city headquarters for preventing the spread of coronavirus by Vladimir Zhavoronkov, Deputy Minister of health of the Republic of Tatarstan. Denis Kalinkin, head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, held the daily meeting in a videoconference.

The experiment, during which health workers can use the Yandex service free of charge, was considered a success and now there are plans of its implementation to other cities of the country, said V. Zhavoronkov. The use of the Yandex. Taxi services reduced the work load on medical teams at hospitals and clinics in Kazan and increased the mobility of medical staff. During the cooperation period, doctors made 6400 home visits using Yandex.Taxi.

For information, the company provided free services during the first week. Earlier, on the initiative of the Mayor of Kazan, the Executive Committee of the city also temporarily allocated 15 vehicles to city polyclinics for doctors’ home visits. During the week, they managed 2 thousand home visits. Then, vehicles were transferred to the volunteer headquarters to deliver food and other essential goods to elderly citizens who are at risk for complications from coronavirus.

At the city headquarters, Rustam Gafarov, first Deputy head of the Executive Committee also reported on the results of the first day of distance learning at Kazan schools. He noted that in the first day there were issues that was necessary to be improved.

He also reported that to date, 79% of food boxes have been allocated for two weeks period for the beneficiary schoolchildren, other charity projects are underway. So, KazanExpress company started distributing 10 thousand food boxes to needy elderly citizens of Kazan according to the lists of the social service.

Deputy head of the Executive Committee Ildar Shakirov reported that due to a slight passenger traffic increase up to 144 thousand yesterday, additional 20 buses came out on the routes. For reference, before the introduction of the self-isolation regime, the daily passenger traffic in Kazan was 808 thousand passengers.

Alexander Mishchikin, head of the Ministry of interior of the Russian Federation in Kazan, reported about the work of police officers at checkpoints. According to him, the operational circumstances in the city remains stable.
