<p> (KZN.RU, January 14, Ksenia Shvetsova). On New Year's holidays, the communal services of Kazan carried out intensive work on garbage collection. Up to 130 garbage trucks were involved daily to collect waste. In just 10 days, 98 thousand cubic meters of waste were removed from the territory of apartment buildings and settlements, which is 15% more than on ordinary days. Dmitry Anisimov, the chairman of the Committee on Housing and Communal Services, reported this at the Business Monday today. </p> <p> </p> <p> The garbage collection from the territory of apartment buildings and settlements was carried out daily and in the enhanced mode from December 31 to January 2. The waste disposal site began work at 12 pm on January 1. Timely garbage collection was provided through the actions of district administrations and management organizations by ensuring free access to the container sites, noted D. Anisimov. “I want to thank the residents of the houses who did not park the cars at the container sites, making a garbage collection easier”, said the speaker. He added that the garbage collection work is carried out in close contact with the regional operator OOO “UK PZhKH”. </p> <p> </p> <p> Emergency technical services and resource-supplying organizations worked out the applications timely and eliminated the accidents and their consequences in the New Year holidays, noted D. Anisimov. In total, 29 unplanned outages occurred at the communal services, all of them were of a local, short-term nature. No scheduled outages were made. </p> <p> From January 1, a new procedure for the collection of municipal solid waste (MSW) began to operate in Russia. The OOO “UK PZhKH” has become the regional operator, who is now responsible for garbage collection from Kazan and the western area of Tatarstan. The task of the regional operator is the collection of MSW, sorting, extraction of hazardous waste and secondary raw materials for further processing, safe disposal of non-recyclable residues. Despite the transition to the new system, no malfunctions were made, noted Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee. “Garbage has been and being removed. On holidays, we went from house to house, checked how work was going carried out. There were few local faults in the garbage collection schedule, but in general, the situation in the city is under control”. </p> <p> </p> <p> On the territory of apartment buildings, the cleaning the snow, organizing the garbage collection is the responsibility of the management companies, HOA and HBC. </p>
