Night Bike Fest and Tasty Kazan gastro-festival will mark the 10th anniversary of the Universiade

<p> The capital of the republic of Tatarstan is preparing for the summer tourist season: the annual inspection of the walking routes was completed, leaflets, gastronomic and children's guides, and a city map have been updated. Most of the planned events are dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the World Summer Universiade in Kazan, Director of the Committee for Tourism Development Daria Sannikova reported at the Business Monday meeting. </p> <p> “This year, on the initiative of Mayor Ilsur Metshin, many summer events were timed to mark the 10th anniversary of the Universiade, so that both Kazan residents and tourists remembered the amazing atmosphere that prevailed in the city at that time,”- said the head of the Executive Committee Rustem Gafarov. </p> <p> According to him, the tourism potential of Kazan is not fully developed. “The tourism development program for the next five years is aimed at solving this issue. Together with the State Committee for Tourism, we will carry out this work and increase competencies,”- the head of the Executive Committee said. </p> <p> According to Daria Sannikova, among the planned events are Night Bike Fest and Tasty Kazan gastronomic festival, which will be traditionally held in June and July. </p> <p> The route of the Night Bike Fest with a length of 16 km includes the venues of the Universiade. To ensure the safety and comfort of bikers, the route is arranged with the traffic police and the Kazan Department of Internal Affairs. Last year, the event brought together more than 3 thousand participants from different cities of the country, the speaker noted. </p> <p> The gastronomic festival Tasty Kazan, which will take place at the Ak Bars Arena stadium, is also dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Universiade. Last year, 42 thousand people took part in the event. </p> <p> This year, the development of competitive projects will continue. Among them are the interregional festival of professional skills “2023 Stars of hospitality of the Volga region”, the contest of creative projects “Fall in love with Kazan” and the contest of holiday decoration “New Year's Kazan”, informed Daria Sannikova. </p> <p> “An important aspect for the development of an interesting, marketable tourist product is the organization of information tours for specialists in the tourism industry, she noted. – Since the beginning of the year, the committee has organized about 20 information tours for guides and tour operators of Kazan and Tatarstan.” </p> <p> According to Daria Sannikova, press tours also contribute to the promotion of the city. For example, from 4 to 7 April, the team of the VK Places project, which was launched by VK to popularize tourism among the population of Russia, visited Tatarstan. </p> <p> The tourism potential of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan was also presented to the leading tour operators of Azerbaijan at the AITF 2023 exhibition in Baku. “According to the participants, Kazan is extremely interesting for tourists from Azerbaijan, and open direct flights contribute to an increase in the tourist flow between our republic and Azerbaijan,”- the speaker noted. </p> <p> Speaking about grant programs, she added that work is underway to support and inform entrepreneurs interested in the development of tourism. Eight preliminary applications for a competition for subsidies for the development of tourist infrastructure have already been submitted. </p>
