The National Museum of the RT prepared an exhibition of traditional Russian toys in an unusual format

Exhibits “We made a toy” will be presented in Kazan in the form of puppet scenes.

(KZN.RU, March 21). Traditional Russian toys in the form of puppet scenes will be shown to Kazan citizens in the National Museum of the RT. The exhibition “We made a toy” will open on March 22.

The exposition included more than 260 items. This is the result of the work of the masters of the folklore association “Tsarev Gorod” at the Museum of the History of the City of Yoshkar-Ola and prize-winners of the contest “Russian Folk Toy”, organized by the Center of Russian folklore of Kazan. Puppets have already been exhibited in the Russian Ethnographic Museum in St. Petersburg and the Yaran Museum of Local History in the Kirov region.

“In addition to the material from which the item was made and its purpose, the atmosphere in which it existed is very important”, explain the organizers. “The idea of the exhibition is to convey these feelings through puppet scenes, understandable to children and adults”.

The official opening of the exhibition is planned at 3 pm. It will end on April 20.
