The embankment of Kaban Lake received an Award from the American Planning Association

This is the only Russian project awarded such an honorary international award.

(KZN.RU, May 27, Alena Miroshnichenko). The realized project of improvement of the embankment of Nizhny Kaban Lake in 2019 received an international planning award in the Grand Award for Urban Design nomination from the American Planning Association. Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee, the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, announced this at the Business Monday. He noted that this is the only Russian project that has been awarded such an honorable international award.

In 2016, the concept of improvement of the embankment of Nizhny Kaban Lake was awarded the “Signs of cities” for the best idea of urban development. Other works carried out in the city in the priority project “Forming a comfortable urban environment” and the program of the RT on the development of public spaces were highly evaluated at international and Russian competitions as well. Thus, the wooden object “Mushrooms” on the playground of the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest in 2017 received the all-Russian award “Arkhiwood” in the nomination “Best Art Object”. And the playground “Fairy Forest” from the architectural bureau “Chelharda” in 2018 received the award of the Russian team Martela EdDesign Award.
