(KZN.RU, March 11). The Kazan Ski Marathon took place at the stadium “Lokomotiv” last Sunday. About 500 athletes from different parts of the country became its participants. Skiers passed 5, 25, and 50 km.
The marathon 50 km distance was passed by 263 men and 22 women. The main cash prizes were drawn between the winners from 1 to 10 places. The amount of the prize fund this year was more than 1 million rubles. The maximum prize of 150 thousand rubles was taken by Raul Shakirzanov from Perm. Among women, 100 thousand rubles were taken by Maria Davydenkova, who represented the Republic of Tatarstan. Nikita Kryukov, the Honored Master of Sports of Russia, also went to the distance together with the skiers.
60 men and 21 women arrived at the finish at a distance of 25 km. In the short run, 48 men and 26 women finished in 5 km. Eminent skiers gave a start to them Nikolay Zimyatov, a four-time Olympic champion, Alexander Zavyalov, a two-time World Cup winner, and Olga Danilova, a native of the Bugulminsky district of Tatarstan, who won the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano and repeated her “golden” finish four years later in Salk Lake City.
Places in the contest among women at a distance of 50 km were distributed as follows: Maria Davydenkova took the first place, Zhanna Muraviova took the “silver”, the “bronze” went to Larisa Ryasina, Alena Melnikova came fourth, and the fifth place was taken by Dilyara Sabirzyanova. Among the men in the 50 km race, Raul Shakirzyanov was first, Kirill Vyzhuzhanin finished second, “bronze” went to Artem Nikolaev, Konstantin Glavatskikh came fourth, and fifth place was taken by Alexander Utkin.
