Athletes from all over the world will attend the FINA World Cup for swimming in Kazan

250 strongest swimmers will take part in the competition.

(KZN.RU, September 5). Fr om 7 to 9 of September, the first stage of the FINA World Cup will be held in Kazan. About 250 strongest swimmers from around the world will attend the competition, including 18 Tatarstan athletes. The swims will be held at the base of the Water Sports Palace.

The FINA World Cup consists of 7 stages divided into three clusters. The first cluster will include the stages in Kazan and Doha, the second one will be in Eindhoven and Budapest, the third one – in Beijing, Tokyo, and Singapore. Competitions in the first cluster take place in a 50-meter pool, wh ere 32 sets of awards are given in individual program types and two in relay races. The second and third clusters include competitions in the 25-meter pool at 34 individual distances and two relay races. Athletes are allowed to swim an unlimited number of distances, but only the top three results will be taken into account when calculating rating points.

According to the agreement between the capital of Tatarstan and FINA, Kazan will host the FINA World Cup stages in swimming from 2018 to 2021, reminds the press service of the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects.
