(KZN.RU, June 19, Alena Miroshnichenko). Sabantuy in Kazan will end a series of festive events held in cities and districts of Tatarstan at the end of sowing. Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, Nazip Khazipov, the deputy minister of Agriculture and Food of the RT, and others told about the process of the celebration on June 23. The discussion took place at the press conference in Tatar-inform.

This year, the celebration of Sabantuy in the Tatarstan capital is planned at four sites: in the “Berezovaya Roscha” of the settlements Derbyshki and Mirny, on the Lebyazhie lake and at the Kazan Hippodrome. “Maidans at all sites will begin their work at 9.30 am, except for the Kazan Hippodrome. The event starts at 12.30 pm there. We invite all citizens and guests of the capital to come to the opening or in advance”, said Azat Abzalov. He also urged citizens to understand the search procedure with understanding. Security services, medical staff, and medical care will be on duty at all sites.

The head of the Department of Culture marked that it would be possible to get to the festive sites by public transport. This year, convenient logistics are provided for this: public transport will operate according to a special scheme.

In addition, the speaker reminded that there was a change in traffic in the area of festive sites on Sabantuy in Kazan. Thus, from 5 am to 5 pm, one-way traffic will be organized on the road from the RC “Lesnoy Gorodok” to the Fermskoe Highway. In the same period, one-way traffic will be organized in Derbyshki from Mir Street to Solidarnosti Street. For the convenience of the residents of the “Lesnoy Gorodok”, the two-way traffic with the possibility of going to Bratyev Batalovykh Street in the direction of the Orenburgsky Tract will be preserved.

Sports competitions, horse races, a concert program are scheduled on the grounds. The main event will be the competition in the fight Koresh. Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport, said that this year the competition will cover all age categories: children and teenagers under 18, athletes over 18 and veterans. The best athletes will receive a special prize: a ram and a car, noted Svetlana Vostrikova. She added that 3 batyrs will be selected in the city.

The chairperson of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport also said that in Mirny and on Lebyazhie Lake, men will compete for absolute primacy in weight categories: 60 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg and 130 kg. Young men under 18 years will also compete in weight categories: 55 kg, 65 kg, 75 kg, 90 kg and 100 kg. Competitions in Derbyshki will be held only for veterans in the categories up to 70 kg and over 75 kg.

“At each site, up to 15 traditional types of competitions are planned: walking on an inclined log, climbing a pole, breaking pots, pulling a stick, and others. In addition, we will organize a large platform of power extreme in Mirny. Citizens will be able to see eminent athletes who will perform power extreme, weight-lifting, wrestling and tug-of-war”, said S. Vostrikova. Wrestlers are invited to weigh in at 7 am, the competitions will begin at 9 am.

Traditionally, there will be horse racing at the Kazan Hippodrome. Nazip Khazipov, the deputy minister of Agriculture and Food of the RT, said that President of Turkmenistan Gurbangula Berdymukhammedov is expected to attend the event. “The competitions will take place for two days. On the day of Sabantuy, 13 full races of ponies, trotters and riding horses will take place. Each race claimed 10 or more horses”, he explained. The prize fund of the tournament will be 2 million 800 thousand rubles. A. Abzalov also said that a separate competition will be held there for fans. At the entrance, everyone will receive a lottery ticket and could win valuable prizes or the main gift, a ticket to Turkey.
