3 candidates were registered for the additional elections to the State Council of the RT, 9 candidates for in the Kazan Duma

Elections will be held on September 2 and 9 respectively.

(KZN.RU, August 6, Alsu Safina). Nine candidates were registered for the additional elections of the deputies of the Kazan City Duma for the Northern and Arbuzov single-mandate electoral districts, which will be held on September 9 on a single voting day. Seven candidates nominated by the regional branches of political parties, and two candidates by the self-nominated candidate. Farit Garaev, the chairman of the Election Commission of Kazan, said this at the Business Monday.

Since June 23, after the official publication of the decision to declare additional elections, citizens had the right to nominate themselves as candidates for deputies, which lasted until July 30. During this time, 12 candidates submitted nomination notifications to the City Election Commission: four self-nominated candidates, another eight candidates were nominated by regional branches of various political parties. On August 3, the registration of candidates that had submitted the necessary documents was completed.

“As of August 6, there were five candidates registered in the Northern Electoral District №1, four of them were nominated by the regional branches of the Communist Party of the RF, “A Just Russia”, “Russian Communists”, and the LDPR, and one candidate is self-nominated”, said the chairman of the Kazan Electoral Commission. “There are four candidates registered in the Arbuzov electoral district №21. Three of them are nominated by the regional branches of the Communist Party of the RF, “A Just Russia”, the LDPR, and one candidate is self-nominated”. F. Garaev specified that there were cases of refusal in registration caused by the fact that the candidates did not submit the documents required for registration. Complaints and appeals from the participants of the electoral process have not been received at this stage of the election campaign, he said.

The pre-election campaign will be held from August 11 to September 7. During this period, the City Executive Committee allocated premises to candidates for conducting public agitation meetings with voters. Specific places for the placement of printed propaganda materials have been determined. During this period, pre-election campaigning will take place on television, radio, and in printed publications.

From August 29 to September 4, voters will have the opportunity to vote ahead of time in the territorial election commission. From September 5 to September 8, early voting will be possible in the precinct election commission at the place of residence of voters.

F. Garaev said that invitations were prepared for the voters, explaining the procedure, the time of voting, including the early voting, indicating the location of the polling station. Individual invitations will be received by 377 young voters who will vote for the first time.

The registration of candidates for additional elections of the deputy of the State Council of the RT of the V convocation in Chuikovsky single-mandate electoral district №8 was completed. In total, three candidates have been registered. Additional elections will be held on September 2.

All information on the additional elections of the deputies of the Kazan City Duma on two single-member constituencies is posted on the website of the city's Election Commission and on the pages of territorial election commissions.

“There is nothing new for us in this work. It is important to hold elections according to the letter of the law, with strict observance of the current legislation. We must provide an opportunity for residents to express their will, so that they choose a worthy candidate for deputies”, concluded Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
