9 urban areas will be landscaped in the capital of Tatarstan.
(KZN.RU, February 26). In 2019, it is planned to improve 9 public spaces in Kazan. Almost 1.5 billion rubles will be allocated for the improvement of parks and public squares, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, at the reporting XXXII session of the Kazan City Duma.
The improvement will affect the following objects: the second stage of the park on Absalyamov Street, the territory of the Family Center “Kazan”, the forest-park area “Dubrava”, the beach areas of Lebyazhie and Komsomolskoe lakes, the pedestrian zone from Leninsky Square to Bauman Street, Ordzhonikidze Square and Yunusovskaya Square. In addition, the reconstruction of the Nizhny Kaban lake embankment will continue.
By May, the improvement of the Walk of Fame in Yudino will be completed. It began as part of the celebration of its 100th anniversary.
Ilsur Metshin reminded that the program of reconstruction of public spaces was launched on the initiative and with the support of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT. Last year, a record amount was allocated for the improvement of parks and public squares – 1 billion 258 million rubles. Thanks to these funds, eight objects were reconstructed: Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest, parks “Krylya Sovetov” and “Komsomolets”, boulevards along Dekabristov, Fuchik and Absalyamov streets, the territory of the Family Center “Kazan”, and the embankment of the Nizhny Kaban Lake.
The head of the city added that the plans of the GC “TAIF” include the arrangement of a new children's park near the National Cultural Center “Kazan”.
Now there are 144 parks and squares in the city with a total area of 379 hectares. The head of the city drew attention to the fact that in addition to the reconstruction of public spaces, it is important to maintain them. They should be filled with meaning and become a place of attraction for people. For these purposes, a Directorate of Parks and Public Squares of the city was established in the capital of the RT.
During the first year of work of the Directorate, more than 1300 events were held for citizens, visited by more than 370 thousand people.
“Today we can safely say that parks and squares have become a favorite place for leisure activities of citizens and guests of the capital”, said the Mayor.
