The Moscow Ensemble of Contemporary Music will perform compositions by Sofia Gubaidulina for the Kazan audience

The concert will be dedicated to the birthday of the composer.

(KZN.RU, October 17). On October 24, the Rachmaninov Hall of the Kazan Conservatory will host a concert “The Soul of a Woman”, dedicated to the birthday of Sofia Gubaidulina. The Moscow Ensemble of Contemporary Music will perform music by Gubaidulina herself, the compositions of the composers Galina Ustvolskaya, Elena Firsova, and Kaiya Saariakha.

The Center for Contemporary Music in the capital of Tatarstan celebrates the birthday of Sofia Gubaidulina each year. This year the composer is 87 years old.

The Moscow Ensemble of Contemporary Music, which will be performing this year, is one of the leading collectives performing contemporary music in Russia and the main partners of the Gubaidulina Center. The ensemble has more than 800 world and Russian premieres of composers from different countries and generations, touring in 25 countries of the world and 80 Russian cities, participating in major international festivals. The collective’s repertoire includes more than a dozen chamber works by Sofia Gubaidulina.

Pianists Milyausha Khairullina and Ekaterina Chebotareva participate in a joint concert with the Kazan Conservatory.

The concert will take place at Pushkin Street, №31. The beginning is scheduled for 6 pm, according to the Culture Department.
