“Moabit notebooks” by Musa Jalil were taken out from the repositories of the National Museum of the RT for one day

Solemn events in honor of the 112th birth anniversary of the Tatar poet are held in Kazan.

(KZN.RU, February 15, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Today solemn events in honor of the 112th birth anniversary of Musa Jalil, a Tatar poet, a Hero of the Soviet Union, are held in Kazan. Kazan citizens laid flowers to the monument on the May 1 Square, and also took part in the action of the National Museum of the RT “Day of the Original” with the removal of the famous “Moabit notebooks” fr om the repositories.

Representatives of culture and science, representatives of public organizations and authorities, schoolchildren and students gathered in the morning for the ceremony of laying flowers at the foot of the monument to Musa Jalil at the walls of the Kazan Kremlin. Rafis Korban, a poet, Danil Salikhov, the chairman of the Union of Writers of the RT, and other famous Kazan citizens were among them. “Musa Jalil is a symbol of our nation, our people. I consider myself obliged to come and worship him, to what a feat he and his associates accomplished”, said Vakhit Imamov, a member of the Union of Writers of the RT.

The event continued in the conference hall of the National Museum of the RT. “There are not many museums of Musa Jalil. The very first one opened in his homeland in the village of Mustafino, Orenburg region. The second one was in Kazan in an apartment where he lived with his family”, said Gulchachak Nazarova, the general director of the National Museum of the RT. “We would like to create a huge museum on the high bank of the Volga, wh ere Tatar literature would be represented, including the legacy of Musa Jalil. We dream about this but there are few enthusiasts who already create museums in his honor in schools and at houses of cultural”. She reminded that all the exhibits are genuine in the museum-apartment of Musa Jalil, which is a branch of the National Museum of the RT.

After the opening words of honorary guests from the Union of Writers of the RT, the Sea Assembly of the RT, and the Youth Assembly of Peoples of the RT, the winners of the online poetry-reading contest recited the poet's works in different languages and received awards. The contest was held in social networks, 20 people took part in it. They filmed their speeches on video and posted them on the Internet with hashtags #джалиль2018 #джалиль112 #мант. These videos collected 10000 views in total.

The action “Day of the Original” takes place annually in the National Museum of the RT but the rights of carrying out “Moabit notebooks” are given to different people every time. This time the responsible task was entrusted to Ramis Aimetov, the first deputy chairman of the Union of Writers of the RT on creative issues. Accompanied by the cadets of the Kazan Higher Tank Command Red Banner School, a valuable exhibit was carried through the hall and placed in a special glass showcase. It would stay there until tomorrow and after would be returned to a special safe in the museum store until next year.
