<p> Kazan has a huge experience in holding major sporting events and is ready to bid for the main sporting event in the world – the 2036 Olympics. This was stated by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin today at the Business Monday at the Executive Committee of the city. </p> <p> The fact that Russia is preparing a bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics was announced last week by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a meeting with the Tokyo Olympic medalist, the Mayor of Kazan reminded. Among the cities that can host the Olympic Games, Sergey Lavrov named St. Petersburg and Kazan. </p> <p> The major sporting events held in Kazan were highly appreciated by both athletes and visitors, the Mayor noted. “Each of the events that took place in our city with the support of the federal and local government has helped us to gain experience. We have always expressed a great desire to host the main event – the Olympics – said I.Metshin. – We were lucky enough to host one of the premier events – the World Cup was held successfully in our city. The main national football teams played here, including twice-the French national team, the 2018 champion”. </p> <p> Today, the sports infrastructure in the capital of Tatarstan, as well as the hospitality facilities are ready to host a sports event of the highest level, I. Metshin believes. “Of course, there are also things that still need to be built, for example, a cycling track.
