<p> In eight months of this year, almost 3.2 million people visited Kazan, which is 10.3% more than in the same period of 2023. About 74% of tourists arrived in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan from the regions of Russia. The average length of the travel was four days. Daria Sannikova, Director of the Kazan Tourism Development Committee, provided such data at the staff meeting. </p> <p> The average daily spending of tourists is 2.94 thousand rubles per person, which is an increase of 8.5% compared to the same period last year. In eight months, visitors spent a total of 22.1 billion rubles, an increase of almost 30% compared to 2023. </p> <p> «For the first time this year, we have estimated the spending of tourists for the first eight months at 16 billion rubles. This year, it has already reached 22 billion, a significant growth that we are working to support with our infrastructure development. There are regions that don't see such numbers. Our great systematic approach always pays off», – Mayor Ilsur Metshin emphasized. </p> <p> More than a quarter of tourist spending was on visits to cafes, bars, and restaurants. Approximately 80% of visitors dined out, with the average cost being around 1 thousand rubles. </p> <p> The average age of tourists was 40 years old. More than half of them were women, while the other half were men. Some of the most popular tourist destinations included the Kazan Kremlin, which attracted almost 3.5 million visitors, the City Panorama Museum with about 49 thousand visitors, the Chak–Chak Museum with 35 thousand, and the Riviera Aqua Park with more than 486,000 visitors. </p> <p> The Mayor of Kazan drew attention to the need to create new unique products that could be offered to tourists of the city. The hospitality sector of the capital of Tatarstan needs to grow not only in the number, but also in the quality of the events held. </p> <p> «Every time we hear about visiting the Kazan Kremlin, the Aqua park, the Chak-chak Museum and other locations. We need to think, among other things, about events and events not only such as Delicious Kazan, Sabantuy and City Day, but more boldly and in collaboration with representatives of the tourism business to offer our guests new products and only increase their travel time. At the end of eight months, the indicator increased by 4.1% compared to last year and amounted to 13.8%. </p> <p> Almost 3 million 610 thousand people have used the services of Kazan International Airport, which currently operates 76 domestic and 26 international flights. </p> <p> «Over the eight months of this year, more than 67,000 foreign tourists visited Kazan, which is 3.2 times more than last year», – Daria Sannikova said. </p> <p> The speaker also cited data from the Kazan river port, which served almost 330 thousand passengers, which is 35% more than the same period in 2023. Another 64,000 people took advantage of an excursion from May to August on a river tram along the Kazanka River. The indicator increased by 16%. </p>
