The concept of decorating the Cave Cathedral of the Our Lady of Kazan Icon was discussed in the capital of the RT

The large and small crosses have already been installed on the cathedral, and the roofing of small cupolas from copper has been made.

(KZN.RU, July 26). The concept of decorating the Cave Cathedral of the Our Lady of Kazan Icon was discussed yesterday in the capital of Tatarstan at a working meeting. Mintimer Shaimiev, the Tatarstan State Counselor and the Head of the Board of Trustees of the Republican Foundation “Vozrozhdenie”, and Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan took part in the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Vladimir Kazilov, the general director of the contract organization OOO “Evrostroiholding+”, told about the progress of the restoration work. The large and small crosses have been installed, the roofing of small cupolas of copper has been made. The work has been completed on the installation of the thermal insulation of the main dome and external plastering works of the cathedral and the cave temple.

After that, there was a presentation of the conceptual decision on the designing the place of the Our Lady of Kazan Icon appearance and the iconostasis of the Cave Cathedral. The draft decision was presented by Alexey Kotov, the chief architect of the design project for the interior of the cathedral. He noted that the presented project is the result of collective work. The members of the expert council on church art, architecture and restoration of the Russian Orthodox Church took part in it. The co-authors of the project from Moscow on-line also took part in the meeting.

Mintimer Shaimiev, Metropolitan Feofan, and participants of the meeting actively discussed the proposals of authoritative experts, expressed their comments and suggestions, reports the press service of the Kazan diocese.

“Today we basically agreed with the concept of the decoration of the Cave Cathedral, which was presented to us. This is the defining moment, the point in the search has been set, and doubts have been lifted. Now we need to start the implementation of the project. Therefore, each part should be pulled up. And, of course, we will continue construction work. The road is thorny, work should be conducted on all fronts”, said Mintimer Shaimiev, summing up the results of the meeting.

Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan, Yuri Kamaltynov, the deputy chairman of the State Council of the RT and the chairman of the Administrative Council of the Republican Fund “Vozrozhdenie”, Tatyana Larionova, the deputy head of the State Council of the RT, Executive Director of Foundation “Vozrozhdenie”, the Abbot of the Kazan-Bogoroditsky Monastery Mark (Vilensky), Olesya Baltusova, an assistant to the President of the RT, Ivan Gushchin, the chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of the RT, Elvira Kamalova, the deputy minister of Culture of the RT, Lyudmila Andreeva, the deputy head of Kazan Municipality, Marat Aizatullin, the general director of the State Property Committee |Main Investment and Construction Department of the RT”, and other officials took part in the meeting.
