The best travel industry specialists will be chosen at the competition.
Today, the second competitive day of the city's Stars of hospitality competition took place at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Kazan. Participants competed in six categories – Best waiter, Best bartender, Best cook, Best baker, Best maid and Best blogger.
The professional skills competition is held for the fifth time. Each year, interest in competitions is growing. Thus, this year, 150 employees of the service business perform their professional skills.
Along with the increase in the number of participants this year, new categories introduced– Best blogger and Best baker.
Participants had to pass through difficult tests, in which it was necessary to perform all their skills. For example, bloggers need to make a video about one of the sights of Kazan, and cooks need to prepare a poultry dish based on the principles of conscious consumption.
The waiters decanted the wine, set the table, and presented the dish to the guests .
While the waiters serve the table, the bartenders masterfully mix the ingredients of cocktails and pour drinks into glasses. Ilkham Nagimov, one of the contestants, tries to surprise the judges with an unusual mix. He came up with a dessert cocktail based on coffee liqueur and cream, and the main spice of the drink is honey. “People drink tea with honey, but I decided to try and add it to the cocktail. For me, this cocktail is very tasty and fresh”, - says I.Nagimov.
The most delicious category of the contest is Best baker. The participants tried to win not only by the taste, but also by their original service of the dishes. Besides, the contestants had to come up with a dessert inspired by Air-theme. “For many people, air is associated with meringue or souffle, but I decided to add caramel to my dessert, but the main ingredient in my dish is love and a part of the soul”, - said Vlada Firsova, pastry chef.
The participants are judged by experts of the hospitality industry.
Previously, the Volga state Academy of physical culture, sports and tourism held contest in the competencies Best Manager for domestic and inbound tourism, Best restaurant Manager and Best porter. The winners will be determined according to the results of expert evaluations in April.
