Kazan citizens will hear fragments of the Potterian in the Tatar language at the “Hay Market”

Translation of the 2nd and 3rd parts of the famous novel by the English writer J.K. Rowling will be presented on August 5 at the “Chernoe Ozero”.

(KZN.RU, July 27). The translation of “Harry Potter” in the Tatar language is presented in Kazan on August 5. On this day, there will be a festival of modern Tatar culture “Hay Market” (“Pechen Bazary”) in the park “Chernoe Ozero”. The event will be held within the framework of the VIII World Forum of Tatar Youth. It will take place from 1 to 5 of August and will bring together over 1000 delegates from 26 countries of the near and far abroad, 60 regions of Russia and regions of Tatarstan.

The presentation of the second and third parts of the novel by the English writer J.K. Rowling “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” and “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” will be held during the festival. “Guests will listen to fragments of the Potterian in the Tatar language. The book was of interest to me as a child, and then I came up with the idea of translating it. Several people work with me. Many of them are students of the KFU: Guzel Akhmetgaraeva, Gulchachak Mustafina, Bulat Shaimiev is from the IFMK named after L. Tolstoy, and Sarbinaz Shaykhulova from IFMiB”, the press service of the KFU cites the words of Aidar Shaihin, the editor-in-chief of the scientific and educational project “Gyulem”, student of the Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications of the KFU. At the moment, the translations have not been officially published.

During the “Hay Market”, children's, science, and dance areas will be open in the park. There will be thematic excursions about the history of the Kazan Khanate, educational lectures about the life and culture of the Tatar people, as well as culinary master classes and presentation of national dishes of Finnish, American, Siberian, and Astrakhan Tatars.

Visitors to the event are offered to come in national clothes or with its elements. The cultural event will be held from 11 am to 10 pm. The admission is free.
