Kazan residents are invited to Maslenitsa festivities

(KZN.RU, March 7). The Maslenitsa festivities continue in Kazan. Residents and guests of the city are invited to games, fun, take part in contests and try the main festive delicacy: pancakes with various fillings.

The main site will be an ice town on the territory of the Family Center “Kazan”. The program starts on March 9 at 11. It includes a theatrical performance with the participation of fairy-tale characters, a concert and game program for children and adults, winter fun with a prize draw, youth dances and games, as well as the traditional ritual of burning Maslenitsa scarecrow.

Several sites will open on the territory of the ice town. The folk one with Russian folk games and fun, competitive and games – for horse and pony riding. Citizens can also visit rollercoaster rides and ice slides. Performers of folk songs and dances will take the main stage, Kazan citizens will see performances with elements of circus art, the Petrushka Theater, as well as the main fragments of traditional Slavic festive culture. There will also be a fair of products by masters of arts and crafts, master class on walking with stilts, folk dances, amulets and commemorative coins making.

Everyone will be able to taste pancakes and gingerbread cooked according to old Russian recipes.

On March 10 at 10 am, a large-scale celebration will take place in the forest park of Lebyazhie Lake. The traditional massive farewell of winter with a theater performance, taking of the snow fortress and the rite of burning scarecrow are waiting for the citizens. The program of the festival includes concert and entertainment programs, winter fun, a fair of handicrafts and pancakes made according to old Russian recipes.

A food court, a concert with performances of Kazan bands, various activities such as darts, tug-of-war, dodgeball with a felt boot, ball hockey, throwing felt, football and volleyball, a spoon shooting, and more will be organized for the guests of the holiday. Everyone will be able to take part in master classes in making dolls amulets, badges, nailing, and Lego. The headliner of the holiday will be the band “Mirage”. They will take the stage at 1 pm.

Bus routes №36, 46, 72 in Kazan will operate in an enhanced mode due to the celebration of Maslenitsa on March 10 from 8 am to 3 pm, reports the Transport Committee.

Holiday celebrations will be held in other areas of the city. Thus, from 8 to 10 of March, the Museum of the History of the Annunciation Cathedral invites Kazan citizens to a special program for schoolchildren with a master class “Maslenitsa”.

On March 8 at 2 pm, a theatrical performance and a game program for children and adults will be organized in the park “Krylya Sovetov”. Guests could take part in the tug-of-war, fight on bags and pillows, taking a snow town, master classes, snowmobile riding, the attraction “Sniper”, carols and a food court with tea or coffee.

On March 10, a concert program with folk festivals and contests will be prepared for visitors in the Kazan Zoo. On the same day, Maslenitsa Week will be celebrated in the park “Kaleidoscope”.

Maslenitsa is the fun farewell of winter, lit up with the joyful expectation of close warmth and spring renewal of nature. Festivities will be organized in all districts and residential areas of the city. They will be held in the city houses of culture, art schools, teen clubs, and other institutions.
