The Kazan postal logistics center serves almost 12 million people

It was put into commercial operation on the territory of the Kazan International Airport.

(KZN.RU, January 30). Today, the Logistics Center of the Russian Post (Kazan PLC) was put into commercial operation on the territory of the Kazan International Airport. It serves 3500 outlets from 6 regions of Russia.

In 2017, the center was launched to process domestic mail. From the beginning of 2018, the processing of international shipments is organized in it jointly with the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation. The equipment of the Kazan PLC is designed for processing more than 1 million mail items per day, including more than 150000 parcels and small packages. Now about 700 people work in the center but the staff will be increased to 1.5 thousand employees in the future. The Kazan PLC serves almost 12 million people from Tatarstan, Mari El, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Samara, and Ulyanovsk regions.

“This is an additional loading of our airport, new jobs, and most importantly a quality service that will be provided to the population of our republic”, said Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, at the opening ceremony. “We see what processes are taking place in the world today. In particular, the sphere of electronic commerce is developing dynamically. Nobody except Russian Post can cope with these tasks”.

Nikolay Nikiforov, the minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the RF, Ruslan Davydov, the first deputy head of the Federal Customs Service of the RF, Roman Shaikhutdinov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Informatization and Communication of the RT, Nikolay Podguzov, the general director of the Russian Post, also took part in the event . They witnessed the unloading of parcels from the Tu-204S aircraft that flew to Kazan airport from Hangzhou (Zhejiang, China), reports the press service of the President of the RT.
