Kazan will meet Lionel Messi with a 6-meter public-art with his image

A new art object will appear next to the hotel, where the famous football player of Argentina will stay.

(KZN.RU, June 29). Today, the Argentina national football team led by a famous football player Lionel Messi arrives in Kazan. Tomorrow they will meet with the French team at the stadium “Kazan Arena” in the 1/8 finals of the World Cup.

A new public art will appear in honor of the legendary football player Lionel Messi on the building next to the hotel where the team will stay. Its area will be 60 square meters, 6 meters in height and 10 meters in width.

“I am happy that Kazan citizens and guests of the city can personally watch the game of the best football players of the world, including such a famous player as Lionel Messi”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. “A year ago, the team of Portugal came to the match of the Confederations Cup in our city led by Cristiano Ronaldo. We prepared a small surprise for him: the winking image was great. I am glad that Kazan gave the start to the whole movement in this way. Other cities of Russia picked up the tradition for the World Cup matches and meet famous football players with vivid images”.

“I promised that we will prepare surprises for other outstanding players who will participate in the World Cup. In honor of the arrival of the Argentina national team in the capital of Tatarstan, we will find a place for public art depicting such a great player as Lionel Messi”, reminded the Mayor. “And today we are happy to fulfill the promise. Soon the work will be ready”.

The image of Lionel Messi will be located next to the image of another famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, a player of the Portuguese national team.

“I will reveal the secret. Portrait of Cristiano Ronaldo will not remain unchanged. I think he has something to say to Lionel Messi...”, added Ilsur Metshin.

The work is performed by representatives of the creative association “Supernova” Dmitry Kudinov and Dmitry Chalov (Kazan), as well as Andrey Toporov and Sergey Akramov (Ekaterinburg).

Now there are about 50 objects of street art in Kazan, including the facades of buildings designed in the football theme. In addition to graffiti featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, graffiti with Ruslan Kambolov, the defender of the “Rubin”, and Igor Netto, the midfielder of “Spartak” and the USSR national team, appeared in Kazan earlier.
