Kazan will join the Earth Hour international environmental event

On March 28, the Executive Committee, City Hall and district administration buildings will turn off lights for one hour.

The Earth Hour international event will take place on March 28. By tradition, Kazan Mayor's Office will also join it – on this day, the Executive Committee buildings, City Hall and district administrations buildings will switch off lights for one hour.

To take part in the event, it is necessary to switch off the lighting of the houses, non-essential electrical devices, as well as take other energy saving measures from 20.30 to 21.30

For information, Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) encouraging to turn off the lights for one hour as a symbol of commitment to the planet. At the moment, this is the most large-scale environmental event in the world.

In Russia, the campaign was first held in 2009, and more than 30 million citizens of the country take part in it.
