(KZN.RU, August 9). On September 1 and 2, the capital of Tatarstan will host the stage of the European Grand Prix series on rugby-7 among women's teams for the fourth time. This year, athletes from 12 countries will come to Kazan, and one of the main favorites will be the Russian team, the winners of the 2017 series.
Kazan hosts the stage of the European Grand Prix series on rugby-7 among women's teams for the fourth time in its history. Earlier the tournament was held three times in the capital of Tatarstan in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
The competitions will be held at the Central Stadium. The entrance for the spectators is free, according to the website of the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects.
This year, the first stage of the European Grand Prix series was held in late June – early July in France. The hostesses of the tournament became its winners. Second place was taken by the Russian national team. These two teams are the main contenders for the title of the best on the continent. Teams of Ireland, Belgium, Wales, England, Spain, Scotland, Italy, Germany, Portugal, and Poland also participate in the tournament.
Russians are the current winners of the European series. Last year, the Russian team won both stages of the tournament. The England team became the second one, and rugby players from Ireland won bronze medals.
