Reconstruction of the Fisherman's Garden to be completed in Kazan by September

<p> The improvement of the second stage of the Fisherman's garden in Kazan will be completed by autumn. Rustem Gafarov, head of the Executive Committee of the city, inspected the progress of the work.<br> </p> <p> The second stage of improvement covers 2 of the 2.4 hectares of the garden. New lighting will be installed in the garden, additional landscaping will be carried out, lilac, spirea, bird cherry, viburnum roseum and other plants will be planted. The entrance group will be updated, 22 benches, new flowerpots and a bicycle parking will be installed. Along the garden there are sports grounds - a football pitch and a tennis court, a volleyball and basketball court and an area with workout equipment. </p> <p> A dancing area is being equipped in the garden at the suggestion of elderly residents of the district for holding dance classes. Now a special wooden flooring is being laid on this territory. The same space will be used for evening film screenings, which was also requested by residents. </p> <p> The fountain remains the central point of the park. It was out of order for many years, because its main elements required reconstruction. According to Alexey Afanasyev, deputy director of the Vikara contracting organization, it was important to preserve the original shape of the fountain and the sculpture of the fisherman. To do this, the architects studied historical photographs, which were searched in the archives. However, there will also be an innovation – changes have been made to the design and water will now accumulate in the upper bowl, from where it will drain into the lower one. This will allow to make the fountain more spectacular. Previously, the water in the fountain was only in the lower bowl. During the reconstruction, modern materials are used, for example, the exterior cladding is made of granite. </p> <p> The head of the Executive Committee set the task to hold year-round activities in the park and to carry out landscaping taking into account the planned activities. </p> <p> According to the plans, Kazan residents will be able to see the renovated Fisherman's garden by the beginning of autumn. The installation of the foundations of the tracks, water supply networks, drainage and storm sewers, the renovation of sports grounds is almost completed. Outdoor lighting is 70% complete, video surveillance and warning systems are 50% complete. </p>
