A graffiti in support of the French national team will appear to the final of the World Cup in Kazan

The wall of one of the buildings on Bauman Street will be decorated with a composition depicting the head coach of the French team, the Mayor of Paris, and the Eiffel Tower.

There will be another graffiti on the football theme in Kazan timed to the final match of the World Cup between France and Croatia, which will be held tomorrow at the Moscow stadium “Luzhniki”. The wall of the house №30 on Bauman Street will be decorated with a collage. It will depict Didier Deschamps, the head coach of the French team, Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris and the longtime friend of Kazan, as well as the symbols of France: the Eiffel Tower, the cock painted in the colors of the French flag, the ancient Greek sculpture of Nike of Samothrace, which is kept in the Louvre. The public art is decorated by the inscription in French “We are with you!”.

Today, the work has started to create this composition on the central street of the city. Residents and guests of Kazan will be able to see it completed tomorrow. A bright collage, like many other football art objects on the streets of the city, is painted by Dmitry Kudinov, an artist fr om the creative team of Supernova.

The first football graffiti appeared in Kazan last year, in the days of the Confederation Cup. Then, an image of Cristiano Ronaldo was made on the wall in front of the hotel, in which the Portuguese national team stayed. And the graffiti depicting Ruslan Kambolov, the defender of the Russian national team, appeared on Sibgat Khakim Street. Following the capital of Tatarstan, other cities picked up the idea. Kazan also continued the work. This year, one after another, public arts appeared during in the city the World Cup. They depicted Igor Netto, the legendary Soviet football player, Lionel Messi, the captain of the Argentina national team, Neimar, the Brazilian football player. Both teams of Argentina and Brazil came to Kazan for matches, but neither of them managed to bypass their rivals. Some fans jokingly began to link the team's failure with the Kazan graffiti. However, the situation changed when on the eve of the game between the teams of Russia and Croatia, a public art with the captain of the national team of Croatia Luke Modric was painted in Kazan. It proved to be a lucky one for the Croats. In the quarterfinal match, the players of the Croatian national team defeated the hosts of the tournament. And in the semifinals, they defeated the team of England and reached the final. Now they have to compete for the title of world champions with the French team.

In order to equalize the chances of both final teams and support the French team, it was decided to create a public art in Kazan, dedicated to the second finalist of the championship. Along with Didier Deschamps, the head coach of the French team, Kazan citizens will see the portrait of Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, who became a true friend of Kazan. The press service of the Executive Committee noted that special warm relations between Kazan and Paris were formed last year when an agreement on cooperation between the cities was signed. In the spring of 2017, the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy was held in the capital of France. In addition, Kazan supported Paris in winning the right to host the Summer Olympic Games in 2024, in which the French capital won.

The residents of Kazan will be able to watch the match at the site of Fan Fest near the Family Center “Kazan”, wh ere the broadcast will be organized. The entrance to it will open 2 hours before the start of the game.
