Ilsur Metshin met with the leaders of the Tatar youth

They proposed creating a multifunctional site in the city for the presentation of art projects and communication.

(KZN.RU, May 30, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, met with the leaders of the Tatar youth. At the meeting, he supported their proposal to create in Kazan a multifunctional platform for the implementation of a huge number of modern Tatar art projects. Yoldyz Minnulina, Nurbek Batulla, Tabris Yarullin, Timur Suleimanov, Guzel Khasanova, and Ilyas Gafarov talked about the modern life of the Tatar youth at the roundtable in the prefecture “Stary Gorod” at the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda.

Opening the meeting, the Mayor of Kazan noted that Kazan has many talented young people, thanks to whom the cultural life in the capital of Tatarstan goes on. “After the re-creation of the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, the question arose about its cultural content, its filling with various events. And I would like to address you. After all, we have very interesting young people in Kazan, thanks to whom very interesting projects live in the city”, said I. Metshin to the participants of the meeting.

Nurbek Batulla, the winner of the Golden Mask Award, choreographer, and dancer, was the first to describe his work. Last year, he played the main role in the plastic solo performance “Alif” (“Call of Beginning”). It was nominated for the Golden Mask in three nominations and won the nomination “Best Dancer”.

N. Batulla talked about his new project, which unites the theater and dance: the choreographic performance “Shamail”. It was introduced to the Kazan public on the stage of the Center “Moskovsky”. The choreographer shared his dream with the Mayor: to stage modern plays with a “national trait” and to show them not only in Moscow, but also abroad.

Ilsur Metshin noted that the performance that took place within the framework of the Golden Mask Award, glorified Kazan throughout the country. He promised to help the choreographer with the implementation of new projects. He handed a letter of gratitude and a memorable gift to Nurbek. “It will be right if we define a grant that you can spend on your new performance”, said I. Metshin. Also, the head of the city supported the idea of N. Batulla about showing performances abroad.

Tabris Yarullin, the chairman of the world forum of Tatar youth, told about the organization of such projects as “Min tatarcha seileshim!”, “Avtokhereket”, “Tatar-dozor”, “Pechen bazary”, the community of designers, which now numbers about 80 people, and other initiatives of the Tatar youth. Separately, he mentioned the creative association “CALEB” that today organizes many different cultural events in the capital of Tatarstan.

According to the activist, a special environment is required for a real unification of the Tatar youth, namely, a center that would work daily. The head of the city approved the idea and promised to consider the possibility of creating such a center.

Timur Suleimanov, the executive director of the fund “Selet”, told about the success of his project. The unique pedagogical complex of social and psychological adaptation and development of gifted children “Selet” has become an effective system of work with gifted children. It is a youth movement with a high self-organization that conducts educational camps in more than 10 regions of Tatarstan, as well as in regions of Russia and abroad.

Guzel Khasanova, the creator of the Tatar publishing house “Yulbasma”, said that this year her publishing house began to take part in international and the world competitions. On average, the publishing house produces 3-4 books a year. “We print books in Russian, Tatar, and this year the book of Tatar authors will be published in English for the first time”, G. Khasanova shared the plans and gave the Mayor one of the books. The book entitled “Kazan legends” includes the most famous legends about the city. I. Metshin suggested holding presentations of children's books in the educational institutions of the city.

Young Kazan poetess and writer Yoldyz Minnullina told about city projects that unite several arts. She supported the idea of allocating a site for the implementation of modern creative Tatar projects.

Ilyas Gafarov, the founder and soloist of the rap group ITTIFAQ, also spoke about his projects.

The Mayor of the city was impressed by the scale and diversity of the creative projects of the Tatar youth. He wished them not to be afraid to implement the most daring creative ideas and also promised to support them.
