More than six thousand school students will go to new schools
Four new schools for six thousand students will be opened in Kazan this year. This is a record for the city –the capital of Tatarstan have never opened that much of educational facilities in one year. One of the new schools is being built on Kurynova Street in the Sovetsky city district – today the Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin held an onsite meeting. The building is 70% ready and will welcome the first students on September 1as an additional building of school №184.
A new building for 1,501 students is being built under the Education national project. It will allow creating an educational cluster for about three thousand children. There will be lessons for children from grades 1 to 4 In the old building, and in the new building – from grades 5 to 11. There will be sports grounds for football and basketball, as well as running tracks.
The landscaping works, interior decoration, installation of doors and windows are carried out in the facility. An equipment for classrooms will arrive shortly. It is planned that on August 15 the facility will be put into operation, and on September 1 it will host a ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge.
During the meeting, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin stressed that such records as the construction of four educational institutions in one year have not yet been achieved in Kazan. For reference, along with this school, by the decision of the Rais (head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the construction of schools is underway in Salavat Kupere and on R.Gareeva street for 1,501 students each, as well as on Nigmatullina Street for 1,224 students.
According to the head of the Department of Education of Irek Rizvanov, the construction of new facilities will allow to unload overcrowded schools in these neighborhoods.
The head of the city inspected the school restaurant, an assembly hall with 636 seats, recreation areas, as well as large and small swimming pools. Following the meeting, the Mayor instructed to finalize the design solution and present a new version of the project.
The director of the school, Elvira Salakhova, said that 64 teachers are already working at the institution, but recruitment continues. Teachers come from the Moscow region, Arkhangelsk, Saratov and other regions of Russia.
Another feature of the new school is psychological and pedagogical classes. Last academic year, a special class for 31 students was opened. In total, 25 schools and 737 students took part in this project in the city. During the first year of study, high school students got acquainted with pedagogy, psychology and leadership skills, immersed themselves in project, scientific work and the Scientific Olympiad.
Schoolchildren also participated in the development of the concept of the new building. They took a small survey, communicated with each other and offered their ideas to the management. The director of the school also said that in the new academic year, more than 380 first-graders will study at the institution, thus, the number of primary schools will exceed 1,500 children.
The meeting was attended by Roman Fatkhutdinov, Head of the Administration of the Sovetsky city district, Irek Rizvanov, Head of the Education Department of Kazan, Rima Mukhamedshina, Director General of the Department of Food and Social Nutrition, and others.
As of today, 169 municipal schools and 31 private ones are operating in the capital of Tatarstan. More than 166,000 people study in general education institutions of the city.
