Ilsur Metshin takes part in a meeting with heads of municipalities headed by Vladimir Putin
At the round table, mayors of cities and heads of rural areas discussed various topics with the Russian
President
Today, as part of the All–Russian Municipal Forum, Small Homeland - the Strength of Russia,
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the heads of municipalities. The Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the meeting along with 23 heads of cities and small rural
settlements.
The meeting was attended by mayors of cities such as Rostov-On-Don, Krasnodar, Irkutsk,
Grozny, Kaluga, as well as heads of small rural settlements from Nizhny Novgorod, Bryansk,
Orenburg, Sverdlovsk, and Lipetsk regions.
The meeting was moderated by Irina Guseva, co–chair of the Russian Association for the
Development of Local Self-Government and organizer of the forum of municipalities.
“Like last year, our meeting is taking place as part of the All-Russian Municipal Forum, Small
Homeland – the Strength of Russia. It is also a significant business event, where the municipal
community can select specific solutions, cherry-pick them. You have a chance to share best
practices and insights with each another so as to more effectively resolve the issues of improving
the quality of life,”- Vladimir Putin said at the opening of the meeting.
The participants discussed various topics related to rural settlement development, support for the
participants of the special military operation, preservation of cultural heritage, and urban
economic growth.
Tomorrow, the work of the Small Homeland - the Strength of Russia forum will continue. Ilsur
Metshin, Chairman of the Association of BRICS+ Cities and Municipalities, will take part in a
panel discussion on the prospects for international cooperation between urban areas in the
BRICS region.
For reference, the All-Russian Forum, Small Homeland - the Strength of Russia, takes place in
Moscow on April 21- 23 About 4,000 people from 89 regions of the country will participate in
it. The program of the forum includes more than 20 panel discussions and expert dialogues.
On the eve of the All-Russian Forum, regional meetings were held in 16 regions of Russia on
various topics: from comfortable housing and environmental issues to economic matters. In total,
12,500 heads of municipalities from Russia and their teams took part, and another 2.5 million
people participated online.
In Kazan, regional days of the forum were held at Bashir Rameyev IT Park. Approximately 400
representatives from municipalities across the country discussed strategies aimed at improving
the quality of life in cities and settlements.
