Ilsur Metshin on renovation in schools: “What we managed to do this year is of a good quality”

<p> Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited two schools after renovation – the canteen was renovated at school №135, and the gym was renovated at school №75, equipped with changing rooms and showers. The head of the city checked the quality of the work carried out and discussed the changes with teachers and students. This year in Kazan, renovation was carried out at 17 schools, in addition, 21 canteens and 21 gyms were repaired. </p> <p> The visiting meeting of Ilsur Metshin began at school №135. In the building built in 1975, 860 children study, while a design capacity is 520 people. All of them study in one shift, so there was a need to expand the number of seats in the canteen: from 180 to 196. To do this, the school restaurant carried out a re-design of the space, installed an additional rack with high chairs. </p> <p> Earlier, renovation was already carried out at school №135. The facade and roof, utilities, entrance groups were updated here, asphalt pavement was made. This year, windows, internal doors, ventilation, sewerage, ceiling covering, as well as floor and wall tiles, water and electricity supply were replaced for the school restaurant. In addition, the Department of Nutrition and Food purchased new furniture and equipment for the food unit. </p> <p> The attendants at this school have their own uniform: an apron and a white T–shirt, as well as hats - in accordance with the norms. The design of the canteen has changed – now several pastel shades are harmoniously combined here, mirrors are installed, as well as planters with flowers. </p> <p> When going around the school grounds, Ilsur Metshin discussed with the school principal and the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts, Sergei Mironov, the appeals of residents who asked to open a passage for them between the school and the neighboring kindergarten. According to the instructions given by the Mayor, the school fence will be moved here and a sidewalk will be laid. </p> <p> At school №75 in the Moskovsky district, on behalf of the Mayor of Kazan, a gym was renovated. The school students are prize-winners of the regional stage of the All-Russian Sports Olympiad of Schoolchildren. </p> <p> New modern and cozy locker rooms for girls and boys were equipped at the school. The grids were replaced, markings were carried out, bathrooms, flooring, doors, utility networks were repaired, windows were replaced, and lighting was also worked on. Previously, there were no showers in the educational institution. The yard and playground were landscaped for outdoor activities. </p> <p> ‘We visited two schools in the Kirovsky and Moskovsky city districts, inspected the renovation there. This year, along with the fact that we have built four schools in new neighborhoods, 17 schools, 21 gyms and 21 food halls have been renovated. Of course, the most important thing is the teaching staff, the director of the school, his team. But it is important in what conditions our teachers work and teach children. Thanks to the Rais (head) of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov, who systematically pays attention to this. Of course, there is still a lot of work to be done, there are many schools that have not been repaired, but what has been done this year is of a good quality,”- said Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan. </p>
