Ilsur Metshin on preparations for the BRICS summit: “We must show a super league-level team game”

The Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan held an operational commission on preparation for the event

The Executive Committee of Kazan hosted the meeting on preparations for the activities under the BRICS summit, which will take place in October 2024. Active work is already underway in the capital of Tatarstan on the construction and renovation of facilities that will be involved in the forum. Mayor Ilsur Metshin today called the BRICS summit the main challenge of this year. He personally heads the city's operational commission on preparation for the summit.

“We started preparing activities for the BRICS summit immediately after the announcement a decision to hold the forum. Under the leadership of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and colleagues from the government, we have come a long way in approving work plans and financing them. We are now nearing the finish line,”- the head of the city noted.

The plan for the preparation for the summit is scheduled for every day, responsible persons are assigned in each area.

“In the next two months, the city will turn into a large construction site, we apologize for the inconvenience to the citizens. An additional motivation for us is that after each such major event, such as the BRICS summit, the level of urban improvement increases,”- Ilsur Metshin noted.
