Ilsur Metshin: “We have not stopped construction at any of the sites”

About 100 residential apartment buildings, 5 schools and 9 kindergartens are still being built in Kazan.

Despite the current epidemiological situation caused by coronavirus and self-isolation regime imposed in Tatarstan, the residential and social facilities continue to be built in Kazan. Azat Nigmatzyanov, first deputy head of the Executive Committee, reported today at a meeting of the headquarters for the combating the spread of coronavirus, that all construction sites are working in normal mode.

This year, 960 thousand sq. m. of housing, including 174 thousand sq. m. of social mortgage, 100 thousand sq. m. of individual and 680 thousand sq. m. of multi-apartment housing are planned to build in Kazan. Azat Nigmatzyanov said that 333 thousand sq. m. of housing have been commissioned for today – 35% of the plan.

Presently, 15 developers are building 87 residential buildings in the city. In addition, 10 residential buildings are being built under social mortgage program.

The construction of social facilities under Federal and republican programs is also underway.

To date, 5 schools for 5973 students are being built in Kazan. Three schools will be commissioned this year.

It is planned to build 9 kindergartens under Demography national program in Kazan this year.

In addition, 2 football arenas are being built under republican program.

The construction of the Zarechnaya sewage pumping station and the reconstruction of biological treatment facilities is underway on schedule. Restoration and repair works are also being carried out at other sites in Kazan.

“All construction sites are operating in normal mode, as before the introduction of self-isolation regime”, - A.Nigmatzyanov emphasized.

“It is important that we have not stopped work at any of the sites, we continue to build schools, kindergartens, reconstruction of cultural facilities, all the main developers continue the construction of residential complexes, - said the Mayor of Kazan. – Along with the work of large industrial enterprises, the construction industry provides job up to 9 related professions. Therefore, we hope, that construction industry and the scope that we have picked, will help to keep the level of city’s economy. This is a matter of stability of our entire city”.
