The Mayor of Kazan urged developers to improve the quality of housing.
Yesterday, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin held a meeting with the heads of construction companies, where they discussed the results of housing construction of this year, challenges and tasks for the future.
In recent years, Kazan has made a big step forward in the development of the construction complex, the Mayor said. “We see that many of our developers have become leaders in terms of comfort, depth of project development, and learning from the best Russian and foreign practices. We have been working towards this for many years,” - I.Metshin said.
Today, Kazan has become attractive for many residents of other cities who want to move to the capital of Tatarstan and buy housing here, which makes the construction for developers very profitable, the Mayor added.
The first deputy head of the Executive Committee Azat Nigmatzyanov told about the development of the construction complex of Kazan. He reminded, in particular, that this year the plan for residential buildings construction in Kazan is 960 thousand sq.m.
Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, Chief Architect of Kazan, reported on the main challenges in the construction complex. She reminded that in accordance with the new General Plan, a clear regulation and administration of development was introduced, the maximum parameters of new housing construction for each functional and residential zone were approved. New construction in undeveloped areas will now be carried out simultaneously with the development of the street and road network, engineering and social infrastructure.
At the same time, the active development of the territories of municipal districts adjacent to the city is a challenge, I.Tukhvatullina noted. The priority should be complex building development, she noted.
“In the projects, we now require the priority development of areas that include the stages of design, construction and reconstruction of the buildings, as well as reconstruction stages of utilities, transport and social infrastructure”, – added the chief architect of the city.
Among the challenges, I.Tukhvatullina noted the long-term coordination of planning projects and draft proposals due to their non-compliance with existing standards.
Ilsur Metshin called on developers to change their approaches to work. “Today, the quality of design should correspond to the title of the capital of Tatarstan,”- the Mayor said. Now we have the right to demand a high-quality design, which will be at the level of tomorrow. We don’t need designs made by the third-year students on broken computers. We do not require impossible, but call for a qualitative review of architectural solutions”.
The heads of construction companies who took part in the meeting shared their ideas on the development of the construction complex.
In conclusion, I.Metshin noted that such meetings will be held regularly at least once a month, so that developers can give feedback.
