Ilsur Metshin to the Kazan residents: “Let’s meet back in autumn, you won’t recognize your yard”

Under the Our Yard program, this year the territories of the residential area at Pobedy Avenue, Sakharova and Zakieva Streets will be improved.

By the end of summer, residents of the Sovetsky district will have new recreational areas – under the Our Yard republican program, a comprehensive improvement will be carried out at seven yards of the residential area between Pobedy Avenue, Sakharova and Zakieva Streets. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin got acquainted with the project today. He talked to local residents and found out their opinion about the upcoming improvement works. “Let’s meet back in autumn, you won’t recognize your yard”, - the head of the city promised the Kazan residents.

The improvement of the adjacent territories under the Our Yard program was launched in the capital of Tatarstan last year. “We try to improve every yard, there are new solutions for playgrounds and equipment,”- Ilsur Metshin said to the residents of the houses. He reminded that in 2020, thanks to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, the yards of 460 apartment buildings were renovated in Kazan under the Our Yard program, and this year yards of 408 houses are planned to be improved. Along with the program, the tradition of discussing improvement projects with residents appeared. “Your opinion is important to us, you have lived here for many years, and you know every single corner. Only in dialogue we will be able to achieve a great result”, - I.Metshin addressed the residents.

The improvement of the yards of the residential area between Pobedy Avenue, Sakharova and Zakieva Streets will be carried out comprehensively, respecting the wishes of the residents.

The total area of the landscaped territory is almost 130,255 sq.m, it includes seven yards of 27 apartment buildings, in which more than 8.2 thousand residents live.

One of the largest yards is located between the houses №120, №122, №124, №126a, № 128 on Pobedy Avenue. According to the architect Alexey Nikolaevsky, the shape and area of the yard allow to create many different zones on the territory. Much attention is paid to the playgrounds. Two playgrounds for children of different ages will be installed in the yard. In the neighborhood, there will be sports grounds – a ground with workout and cardio equipment, as well as equipment for gymnastics. In addition, there will be football and basketball grounds.

In the central part of the yard, there will be a walking area with benches and canopies- a place to hide from the sun on summer days. Special attention will be paid to the landscaping of parking spaces – they will be moved outside the yard.

During the improvement of the yard, the asphalt pavement and lighting will be updated, the sidewalks will be resurfaced, and bins for separate waste collection will be installed.

The neighboring yards along Pobedy Avenue, Sakharova and Zakieva Streets will have the same improvements.

Besides, in summer, it is planned to improve the Zvezdny Square, which is located between the houses №128 on Pobedy Avenue and №21 on Zakieva Street.
