Ilsur Metshin: “By the beginning of August, we will open a new modern school for first-graders and students at the Vesna-2 residential complex”

The school of Natural Sciences with laboratory classes, a concert hall, two gyms and swimming pools will have a capacity for 1,500 students

By the beginning of the new school year, a natural science lyceum for 1,500 students will open in the Vesna-2 residential complex. The new educational institution will allow unloading school № 185 located in the neighboring residential complex, where today more than three thousand schoolchildren study, which is exactly twice the design capacity. The school with a concert hall with 670 seats, two gyms and swimming pools, classrooms and laboratories are being built according to the Education national project. The work on the site is completed by 25%. Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction.

The head of the city noted that the Vesna residential area, where about 13 thousand people live, is actively developing today. The school under construction will be the second in this neighborhood. Now all the necessary social infrastructure will be available to new residents: two new schools and five kindergartens, a landscaped embankment of the Noksa River.

“We are happy that there are young families with a large number of children. Five years ago, we opened a school for 1,501 students and already last year it exceeded the plan, today three thousand children study there. Therefore, we decided to build a school for 1,501 students as well. It will be equipped with a concert hall with 670 seats, two gyms, wonderful classrooms-laboratories for chemistry and physics classes,”- Ilsur Metshin said.

The school began to be built on Umyrzaya Street in December 2023, the total area of the three-storey building is almost 28 thousand square meters. There will be a hall, a cloakroom, primary school classrooms, a recreation area, a canteen and swimming pools. Classrooms for specialized subjects and an assembly hall are on the second floor.

“According to the decision of the Rais of Tatarstan, the school will have two swimming pools. All work has been deployed, construction has been completed by 25%. By the beginning of August, we will present a new modern school to future first-graders and students at the Vesna–2 residential complex,”- the head of the city noted.

The design of the facade of the school will be combined with the design of the houses of the residential complex.

Director General of the Department of Food and Social Nutrition Rima Mukhametshina, in turn, said that the canteen is designed for 750 children, it will meet all sanitary and epidemiological requirements.

Ramil Fattakhov, General Director of ISC Stroyengineering, said that about 360 people are currently working at the facility. The work on the installation of the pile-grillwork foundation, walls and floors, basement and ground floor ceilings has been fully completed.
