Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head and chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, said about the progress of work on updating the roads, including during the matches of the World Cup, at the Business Monday. </p> <p> </p> <p> Thus, the construction of a new site on Bondarenko Street was completed by the opening of the championship. 5 houses on this site had to be resettled and demolished. The water supply network, sewerage, electricity, communications have been reorganized. As a result, the street received 4 lanes for traffic, sidewalks, and illumination from both sides and became one of the main routes of movement of residents and guests of the capital to the fan zone at the Family Center “Kazan”. </p> <p> </p> <p> The speaker marked that a significant part of the renovated streets of Kazan is the legacy that will remain in the city after the World Cup. “I think everyone was personally convinced of the championship’s influence on the road network. And if plus it with the program for the improvement of public spaces, the effect is colossal. For example, Dekabristov Street now has a beautiful boulevard, and the comfortable roadway became a complex of the street. This urges us to move on to new results”, said I. Kulyazhev. </p> <p> </p> <p> In total, 36 city roads and 9 settlement roads have been repaired in the capital of Tatarstan. The work continues, and repairs are carried out not only in the central streets. For example, the most broken road of Kazan on Magistralnaya Street, which became famous on the Internet thanks to the “Mayor's chair”, which decorated a huge pit in a broken road, was finally updated. There were no repairs on this street for more than 20 years. This year 622.8 million rubles was allocated for it. For today, 60% of the planned works have been completed at this facility. By the end of October, Magistralnaya Street with a length of 3.2 km will become a 4-lane road with sidewalks and road safety elements. It will be equipped with 11 new bus stops and 89 energy efficient street lamps. “This street beat all the popularity ratings on the Internet. I hope that this year it will receive a different rating as one of the best in Kazan”, said I. Kulyazhev. </p> <p> </p> <p> This year 5.5 billion rubles was allocated for the repair of roads, including 1.6 billion rubles for the implementation of the priority project “Safe and high-quality roads”, 2.9 billion rubles for bringing in the normative state of the street-road network in Kazan, and 1.0 billion rubles for repair of yard territories. </p>
