I. Metshin: “Volunteers are not just our faithful companions, they are the face of Kazan”

Today, there are 38 student volunteer associations in the capital of Tatarstan.

(KZN.RU, April 18, Alena Miroshnichenko). Today there are 38 student volunteer associations in Kazan with an asset of 500 people each. Together, they were able to organize about 700 events. Gulfiya Mutugullina, the head of the social creative movement “Ya DobroTvorets” and the best volunteer of Russia in the field of culture, informed about this today at the XXXIII session of Kazan City Duma.

Speaking about the development of the system of volunteering, G. Mutugullina noted that one of the main principles that should be the basis of working with volunteers is to provide a platform for self-realization. One of these sites was the movement “Ya DobroTvorets”, a project that brings together talented and caring youth to help social institutions. They work in 5 areas: orphanages, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, difficult families, and substitute families.

G. Mutugullina noted that caring young people enthusiastically perceived the emergence of such a program, which made it possible to derive 3 autonomous and independent directions from it.

“Speaking of the work with the older generation, I cannot but mention the movement “Victory Volunteers”. The activists visit veterans and provide them with whatever help they can at home”, said G. Mutugullina. Volunteers are also members of search teams. Today, the search movement has 750 people. They annually participate in expeditions to the places of battles of the Great Patriotic War, in the student’s vigil of memory in Kerch. “The most important work on the organization of many commemorative events lies on the shoulders of activists of youth patriotic organizations. The main march of the Immortal Regiment is fully organized by them, and the young soldiers, who have 152 troops in the city, are annual participants in the Victory Parade”, added Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted the importance of volunteering for the city and thanked all the volunteers. “You are not just our faithful companions, assistants and colleagues, you are the face of Kazan. The fact that today we are recognized outside, remembering the Universiade, FINA, the Confederations Cup, the World Cup, is the merit of your large team”, I. Metshin addressed to Kazan volunteers.
