After the implementation of the presidential capital repair program of youth camps, their total capacity will increase from 2380 per shift to 3260 people.
The work at four sites is continuing this year in Kazan as part of the large-scale Republican program of capital repairs, construction and reconstruction of children's camps. Repairs are underway at the camps Molodezhny, Zarechye, Vostok and Unitur. Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin evaluated the progress of work carried out in the children's camp Vostok.
“This year, under another unprecedented program of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, we will complete overhaul and construction of four camps by the summer season. I would like to convey words of thanks on behalf of the city, and Kazan children and parents, - said I.Metshin. – In the current epidemiological situation, when it is not possible to go to Turkey or other countries abroad in the summer, our children will have an opportunity to spend time in such camps, in such beautiful conditions”.
The Vostok camp was built in 1967 and consisted of 4 one-story buildings, where up to 10 children lived in each room, a dining room with 160 seats, a club, a medical center, storage facilities, and lavatories outside. There is also a football pitch and a volleyball court on site. In total, the camp could accommodate up to 140 children per shift, and 420 children per year could rest here. After reconstruction, the camp will accommodate up to 210 people per shift.
Ayrat Faizov, chair of the Committee for children and youth affairs, reported to the Mayor that 7 buildings will be built on the territory of the camp as part of the overhaul program, they will be decorated with portraits and names of outstanding cosmonauts on the facade. All buildings will be used year-round, they are equipped with heating, video surveillance systems and fire safety systems.
The Mayor inspected one of the new buildings and got acquainted with the progress of work on the construction of the club. Rooms in all buildings are suitable for accommodation up to 5 people. In addition, each building has rooms for disabled children, equipped with a living room, showers and bathrooms.
There is also a modern dining room and a club with a capacity of 200 people, as well as a summer bandstand. It is planned to improve the territory and equip sports grounds.
“The conditions for children are great, this is really amazing! This is the case when reality, due to the good work of the builders, surpasses the designed project. It was hard for me to imagine that we could create such decent conditions for children's recreation. This is a real luxury hotel!”, - said the Mayor during the visit.
To date, the frames of seven buildings are built at the children's camp Vostok, a club, a medical center, and a canteen frame. The buildings are being equipped with internal engineering networks and finishing. Work is underway on the installation of external networks, activities site, and the improvement of the territory.
After completion of repairs at the Molodezhny, Zarechye, Vostok and Unitur camps, the capacity of these four camps will increase from 740 children per shift to 1160. Six more camps are included in the overhaul program next year.
After the inspection, the Mayor of Kazan reported to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the progress of work at the Vostok camp.
