I.Metshin: “Despite tangible results, people expect changes, and we have to keep up with their expectations”

At the conference of the local branch of United Russia, chaired by the Mayor of the city, the results for five years were summed up.

The XXXV conference of the party was held at the Saidash Cultural Center was chaired by Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the city and secretary of the Kazan branch of United Russia. It summed up the results of the work for five years.

“Kazan steadily holds a position of a well-maintained and comfortable city”

Speaking to the audience, Ilsur Metshin noted that the main achievements in recent years are minimum wage increase and the subsistence level, the implementation of large-scale programs to support families with children, the promotion of youth employment, the development of a medical rehabilitation system.

“Kazan party members are people who have implemented such large-scale projects and programs as the Five-Year Health Plan, Green Record, My Kazan with its 12 priorities, as well as many others, thanks to which our capital has become one of the best cities in the country, a leader in a variety of areas”, - I.Metshin said.

According to the Mayor of Kazan, over the past five years, FIFA World Cup and FINA Aquatics Championships, the WorldSkills championships and other major international events have been held in the city at the highest level. In 2018, Kazan entered the top five cleanest cities in the world, and in 2019, it took first place in Russia in terms of road infrastructure.

“Thanks to the initiatives and support of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and joint work with the government of the republic, Kazan steadily occupies the position of a well-maintained and comfortable city, unprecedented programs are being adopted for this”, - I.Metshin emphasized.

“Rapid development is the result of investments attracted to the municipal economy”

I.Metshin emphasized that Kazan has made a breakthrough in the construction of social facilities. Over the past five years, 4,400,000 sq.m. of housing, 33 kindergartens, 13 schools, 134 sports venues have been built, more than 1,500 house territories have been repaired.

“There are large-scale works on the repair and construction of roads, renovation of health and cultural institutions. A huge amount of work is also carried out under the republican programs and national projects. They are backed by individuals, families whose lives are changing for the better”, - the Mayor said.

“The epidemic has shown the importance of development of medicine and healthcare”

Ilsur Metshin focused on supporting a healthy lifestyle. A wide and accessible network of sports centers, playgrounds for team games and individual classes has been created in Kazan. In addition, Kazan has a good experience of hosting major international competitions. Next summer the city will host the Volleyball Men’s World Championship and is preparing to host the Special Olympics World Winter Games in 2023.

“Despite the tangible results, there is still a lot to be done, people expect changes, and we must keep up with their expectations. The fulfillment of the goals set in the Antivirus Strategy such as “Healthy Society”, “Green City”, “Wage increase” and “World-class Education”, is a matter of honor for the city authorities and party members of Kazan”, - the Mayor said. The Mayor stressed that the coronavirus epidemic showed the importance of development of medicine and healthcare.

During the conference, Ilsur Metshin was re-elected for the next 5 years as the secretary of the Kazan branch of the United Russia party.
