I. Metshin: “Kazan had become even more recognizable, she made even more friends”

Upon the results of WorldSkills Kazan 2019, about 6,600 publications were posted in the media.

As part of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Championship, foreign guests were introduced to the culture of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan. First Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Rustem Gafarov talked more on this today during Business Monday meeting. One of the interesting events of the championship was the One School - One Country educational programme.

On August 22, Kazan schoolchildren met with representatives of participating countries.

“Our schools were visited by French Labor Minister Muriel Peniko, Chinese Taipei Labor Minister Su Min Chun, WorldSkills International President Simon Bartley and other officials. The schoolchildren, along with the guests, identified the best in sports, treated foreigners with dishes of national cuisine and held master classes in folk songs and dances for them” R. Gafarov said.

The speaker also added that a large-scale international event attracted hundreds of foreign journalists to Kazan who wrote about our city, its residents, and culture. According to the results, about 6,600 publications were posted in the media. “These were very positive reviews, which noted good organization, beauty and comfort of the city, the hospitality of Kazan and a friendly attitude towards the fans,” he noted.

“In conversations with team members, with heads of delegations, with WorldSkills management board, words about beauty, cleanliness and hospitality of Kazan were heard” confirmed the Mayor of Tatarstan capital Ilsur Metshin. “People took away with them a piece of our hospitality and warmth, and Kazan had become more recognizable and made even more friends.”
