Kazan leaded the Steering Committee of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact. On June 1-3, the city will host the International Forum titled “Healthy Cities. Healthy nutrition for children”.
The Milan Pact is a significant innovative urban food strategy in Europe and the main legacy of the Milan EXPO 2015. It allows sharing practices in food policy with other cities around the world.
The Steering Committee of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact is composed of 13 cities, representing each MUFPP geographic area, encouraging them to share practices in the field of food system transformation.
The Forum will be held in a hybrid format with online and offline participation and will be the first international event during the Kazan's membership in the Steering Committee of the Milan Pact. The opening ceremony will take place on June 1 at the Palace of Farmers.
On June 2, the forum participants will meet at the Kazan City Hall. One of the key events of the forum will be a round table of Mayors, which will be attended by representatives of UN agencies and heads of the cities participating in the Milan Food Policy Pact.
The final day of the forum includes sessions, plenary discussions and round tables dedicated to the work on strengthening public health at the municipal level, with the discussion of the experience of different regions, the Department of International and Inter-Municipal Relations reports.
