Kazanysh has become an international event– for the first time China, India, the UAE, South Africa and other countries will take part in the forum

20 countries were invited to the event, among the speakers are leading international urban planners and leading architects of Russia

The Kazanysh Architectural and Construction Forum, which was founded in the capital of Tatarstan a few years ago on the initiative of the Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin, has acquired the status of an international event. On the eve of the BRICS summit, China, India, the UAE, South Africa and Qatar will take part in it. Invitations to visit Kazan were sent to representatives of 20 countries, including Argentina, Egypt, Saudi Arabia. Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, chief architect of the city, said at a press conference today that about 70 events are planned to take place with participation of 7 thousand people.

“Kazanysh” will be held from December 5 to 7 at the Kamal Theater. A landmark architectural event will take place on the eve of the BRICS summit, which is scheduled for October 2024 in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan. It is planned that the forum will be attended by member States and candidates for membership in this international organization.

World–renowned experts are expected at the forum in Kazan: winner of the Golden Lion of the Venice Architecture Biennale - 2023, architect and artist from Nigeria Demas Nwoko, winner of the Silver Lion of the Biennale, Nigerian-born American artist of Olalekan Jeyifous, curator and manager of the Galataport port in Istanbul Ali Pusat. Russia will be represented by architects of the leading bureaus: Wowhaus, ASADOV, Ostozhenka and others.

According to Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, during the first two days the speakers will discuss the identity of Kazan, the impact of large infrastructure transport projects on the development of the city and the importance of coastal zones. The forum will open with a discussion on the identity and life of a multinational city. “Kazan is a unique city where we observe the fusion of a large number of cultures. There is no need to talk about any one direction in architecture. This is a unique story that is worth hearing in the future,”- shared the chief architect of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan.

The third day of the forum will be devoted to discussing issues of inclusion, the concept of the city for children and youth, as well as artificial intelligence. In particular, the projects of the first architectural biennale will be presented to the public in the Presence of the future metaverse.
