The equator of the “Tom Sawyer Festa”: volunteers repaired 3 old houses

<p> (KZN.RU, July 26). The festival “Tom Sawyer Fest” in Kazan has reached the equator: 3 out of the 6 houses planned for repair have already been put in order. Thus, yesterday the volunteers finished the repair of the house №12 on Dostoevsky Street. It was repainted, the extension was completely rebuilt, the brick basement renovated, and other works completed. </p> <p> </p> <p> The festival was launched on July 2. Activists and volunteers repair valuable objects of urban development, which are not monuments of culture. This year, the building in the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda for the first time entered the renovation list: the house №33 on G. Tukay Street, the house №14 on S. Sadykova Street, and the house №11 on F. Karim Street. In addition to them, three other objects were included in the plans: on the streets Volkov, Dostoevsky, and Kalinin. </p> <p> </p> <p> Works on the repair of the house on Dostoyevsky Street were conducted simultaneously with the restoration of the house №33 on Tukay Street, the renovation of which is still ongoing today. </p> <p> </p> <p> All summer, Kazan volunteers paint and repair the facades in the framework of the festival. For example, Olesya Baltusova, an assistant to the President of the RT, posted in her Instagram account, activists made a panel of the remains of carpentry material to decorate the facade of the house in Dostoevsky Street. </p> <p> </p> <p> The “Tom Sawyer Fest” is held in many major cities. This year, repair work is carried out on the historic houses of 25 Russian cities. </p>
