Eco-volunteers told Kazan citizens about a pilot project on separate collection of garbage

The action was held at the house №7 on Aidarov Street.

(KZN.RU, July 31). Eco-volunteers told residents about the rules for sorting garbage and answered questions on the eve of the start of the pilot project for a separate collection of garbage in the Aviastroitelny district of Kazan. The action took place in the yard of the house №7 on Aidarov Street.

428 containers will be installed for separate collection of waste at 109 container sites of the Aviastroitelny district within the framework of the pilot project. Eco-volunteers talked with residents at one of these container sites, located near the house №7 on Aidarov Street yesterday.

The action lasted for 1.5 hours. They explained to the residents why it is necessary to sort the waste, told about the new containers that were installed recently in the Aviastroitelny district. Each container is marked with a special yellow or gray sticker. Containers with a yellow sticker are designed for sorted dry clean waste suitable for industrial processing. Containers with a gray sticker are for unsorted wet and other waste.

The residents will be able to learn more about separate waste collection thanks to specially prepared brochures.

Volunteers noted that residents are mostly positive about the idea of separate garbage collection and are ready to sort waste themselves. However, there are those who still doubt the need for this. “Agitation and example of neighbors will help”, believe eco-volunteers. “Separate sorting of waste will enter the lives of residents if we show and tell them where to put it and why it is needed”, they said.
