Sultan Gabyashi’s house to be restored for the BRICS summit in Kazan

The front of the building and windows will be renovated according to the old model

A cultural heritage site will be restored in Kazan prior the BRICS summit. This is the house where the composer Sultan Gabyashi lived in 1922-1932. The building is located at 12/32 Lobachevskogo Street. According to the results of the survey, the exterior walls and facades require renovation. Therefore, restoration work will be carried out, according to the website of the Tatarstan State Committee for the protection of the cultural heritage sites.

According to the project, the facade and the basement will be restored. According to the preserved historical samples, new window openings will be created, as well as the entrance double-glazed doors and decorative elements of the facade.

The two-storey building was built in the first half of the 19th century. It displays fragments in the style of the late Empire and eclecticism with motifs of the emerging Art Nouveau. At the end of the 19th century, a new section was added to the house from Karl Marx Street.
